About the role

Our client is a Global Leader in industrial commodity. More than 10,000 employee worldwide and currently our Client is looking for a Tax Specialist to attend to all matters related to Tax, Legal, and Corporate Secretarial for all legal entities under Malaysia operations. This position report to Financial Controller.

 

Your responsibilities
Tax matters

  • Ensure the company complies with all tax regulations and reporting requirements and maintains effective tax compliance practices
  • Submit the quarterly GST reporting in due time and in compliance with the regulations
  • Ensure the timely and correct submission of tax estimates and annual tax returns filing
  • Report quarterly the tax reporting forms in the group reporting system (Cognos)
  • Ensure the implementation and update of the Transfer Pricing documentation
  • Monitor tax losses and propose actions to optimize the tax situation of the companies
     

Legal

  • Ensure the company complies with all legal requirements
  • Assist on the review of legal documents on an ad hoc basis
     

Corporate Secretarial

  • Ensure the necessary administrative actions are done in compliance, liaise with Corporate Secretarial for relevant matters
     

Others

  • Ensure the appropriate insurance protection of the BU assets is in place
  • Assist as needed on queries from management or external parties on the subjects covered
     

You will have

  • Graduate or equivalent professional degree, in Finance, Tax, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience with at least 3 years of experience as Tax executive/manager in a Malaysian company
  • Strong knowledge in local tax principles and requirements
  • Strong knowledge in local GAAP and regulations
  • Ability to take responsibility and accountability on the topics listed above
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken, (ability to communicate in additional language is a plus)
