A scientific research-based B2B company with entrepreneurial culture, which the business operations encompass leaf, R&D, extraction and refinery.

 

About the role 

A highly calibre finance specialist to support its business with high growth potential. This global role will have operations coverage for multiple countries. This is a key role in Operations Finance and the selected individual will be responsible for finance business partnering with senior leadership to drive profitable growth. You must possess Supply Chain Finance experience and this position reports to Global Operations Finance Director and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

Your responsibilities 

  • Strategically partner with the Operations team to drive profitable growth through influencing, analysis, product profitability and cost control.

  • Work with operations leadership to develop and ensure a clear path to achieve productivity targets.

  • Optimize operations decision making by providing financial analysis and guidance on operations activities, plans, targets and business decisions.

  • Review product costing & cost allocations on a regular basis and ensure they are adjusted according to the changes in production plans.

  • Expand ROI through efficient deployment of capital investments, working capital and resources. Also responsible for short-term and long-term planning of capital expenditures.

  • Take the leader role to build up yearly operations budget, followed by regular operations forecast and more importantly, drive the business to achieve financial commitment to manage operations, profitability targets and working capital.

  • Improve working capital by looking for opportunities to reduce inventory levels.

  • Ensure alignment across functional organizations including Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to achieve business commitments.

  • Ensure accuracy of finance reports, statements and controls. Review financial statements particularly P&L with gross margin analysis.

  • Develop good working relationship with external and internal auditors and ensure smooth closure of half yearly and year end audit.

  • Any ad hoc project as required by the line manager.

Finance Business Partnering

  • Establish a high level of credibility and create strong working relationships with senior business partners and stakeholders, including SVP Operations, VP Group Manufacturing, GM Operations China and CFO.

  • Form a close working relationship with the respective Supply Chain / Business Operations team at Malaysia and China.

 

You will have 

  • Experience providing finance support in a complex manufacturing environment (must have).

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based financial information.

  • Ability to develop strong partnerships and a collaborative, teaming environment within and across functional organizations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are a critical success factor for this role, including: assertiveness, impactful communication style with ability to influence actions/business decisions, high energy level with a bias for action, high credibility/respect from colleagues, and a positive, gets-things-done attitude.
