Our client is a leading technical consulting organization within the energy and chemical industry that provides leading software and expert services to their clients.


About the role

To deliver our client’s energy management solutions as part of integrated consulting services.


Your responsibilities

Project Related

  • Set project plan, define resourcing requirements and individual team members’ roles and responsibilities. 

  • Prepare project control information for internal reporting.

  • Lead data collection and analysis.

  • Execute / review process calculations.

  • Simulation modelling and calibration.

  • Review and approve energy balances for processes and site in terms fuel, steam, power and cooling.

  • Review and approve BT benchmarking and gap analysis of processes and sites.

  • Review PFD and comparison with BT.

  • Execute, review and approve process and site pinch analysis.

  • Execute, review and approve utility system modeling and optimization.

  • Take lead role in identification, development and design of improvement opportunities in processes and utility systems.

  • Lead mechanical walkthrough.

  • Develop, review and approve RoadMap and Strategic Investment Plan.

  • Opportunity / project implementation supervision.

  • Conduct Energy Management System assessments.

  • Project manage team for mid-sized projects.

  • Delivery of training courses in the energy field.


  • Lead / oversee innovation tasks.

  • Input to technology development.

  • Develop and coach junior consultants.

  • Contribute to internal continuous improvement initiatives.

Client relationship management

  • Communicate with client at working level to ensure streamlined execution.

  • Manage client expectations via active scope management.

  • Client liaison / discussion of operations for larger aspects of work.

  • Responsible for / contribution to the preparation of reports for clients.

  • Lead / contribute to client presentations.

Sales and Marketing Support

  • Lead technical preparation of proposals and man-hour estimation.

  • Provide support for client sales visits.

  • Present papers at conferences.

  • Participate in developing sales awards.


You will have

  • Good degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • 4-8 years industrial experience in operation or design.

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral English is essential.

  • Good Project Management and Presentation skills is essential.

  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Willingness to travel (between 50 to 70% of time is expected for this role).

  • Last minute travel request will be made in some instances.

  • Experience of industrial energy systems and the techniques of energy analysis would be an advantage though not essential.

  • Prior training in Utility system modelling (ProStream), Pinch technology (SuperTarget), Commercial awareness and detailed technology will be advantage.

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with colleagues and clients professionally.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to assist others.

  • Must be a self-starter who demonstrates a flexible approach.
