About the role

Experience matter, NOT age!

We are looking for a capable HR leader who is passionate in contributing their experience for an NGO. He / She will be proactively design, drive and implement HR systems, policies, and procedures for the NGO. Ensuring compliance with all local laws and any other relevant statutory requirement. Provide proactive HR strategic, advisory and operational guidance and support to management teams.


Your responsibilities

  • Facilitates and delivers with input from Leadership Team, an effective HR strategic plan in line with organizational plans. The Director shares responsibility for the people performance of the offices and proactively builds and implements action plans that are up to date, equitable & competitive in order to attract, develop and retain competent and resourceful staff.

  • Implement best fit policies, processes and procedures for Talent Acquisition, Management and Retention including succession planning, Compensation and Benefits; Performance Management, Employee Engagement and Learning and Development. 

  • Monitor HR standards in each office ensuring continuous free flowing communications of HR management data and information between the offices. The Director will present accurate and timely HR data, information, metrics, to the Leadership Team and other functional unit heads, where necessary.

  • Facilitates development analysis work with management teams/ committees to address priority development areas, providing inputs on leadership development.

  • Continuously scanning and reading the HR “signals” of the market to constantly and consistently be aware of changing scenarios and trends.

  • Drive and reinforce policies of Ethics and Compliance, Fraud and Corruption, Conflict in Workspace and Respect in Workplace policies.   

  • Oversee all matters relating to Industrial Relations, working closely with Legal, as and when necessary, ensuring that all disciplinary matters are recorded accurately and timely, in order and in compliance with all legal statutes.

  • Ensures and drives a Total Rewards Strategy that is fair, transparent and benchmarked with market. 

  • Continuously monitors feedback on boarding and makes the necessary changes if so needed to make for a more effective on boarding experience for new staff.

  • Oversee the organisation’s legal function which is performed by in-house counsel in ensuring the execution of Contracts, MoUs and MoAs and provision of legal advisory to internal stakeholders. 


You will have

  • Passion and high commitment towards to the cause of the NGO.

  • A Degree in HR Management, preferably with a Masters/ MBA in HR.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years relevant HR service, in progressively more senior roles, with demonstrated success in leading and building individuals and teams, and managing budgets. Previous experience in working with international NGOs, driving change and high performance, will be an advantage.

  • Proven track record of doing this whilst leading multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary teams.
