About the role
The role manages bid execution for our client’s strategic pursuits including:
Support the pursuit strategy-setting process.
Plan and track team activity to meet internal and client deadlines.
Facilitate collaboration and reviews to drive proposal quality and consistency as well as to meet the client’s process and approval requirements.
Monitor and ensure the alignment of all proposal content, messaging, deliverables, and pursuit actions with the pursuit strategy.
Manage logistics, preparation, and client communication for client presentations, workshops, site visits, reference calls, and other client-facing events.
Manage the visual presentation, written content, and physical delivery of proposal deliverables, including RFP responses, commercial proposals, presentation materials, and contract documents.
Contribute to our client’s bid assets, including documenting best practices for executing strategic pursuits.
Provide structured project management and activity planning.
Manage agile development of content and thought leadership.
Ensure alignment of all pursuit elements and deliverables to the pursuit strategy.
Assess deliverable quality through an outside-in, client-oriented perspective.
Facilitate team collaboration and leadership reviews.
Manage executive approval processes.
Manage Large Bids and Strategic Pursuits
Manage the deal approval process including coordinating bid / no-bid presentation development, quantifying deal value for the client, and projecting client profitability.
Support win strategy development including win strategy workshop preparation and output documentation.
Develop bid plan and calendar.
Manage the logistics of team meetings, reviews, and client-facing events.
Oversee and track the team’s progress against the bid plan and ensure client deadlines are met.
Ensure proposal document quality (e.g. concise language, clean formatting, digital graphics, comprehensive content, compelling story), completeness, and delivery.
Manage client reference approval and information collection processes.
Manage the orals preparation process, including establishing a project calendar, coordinating storyboarding, planning content creation, owning master presentation files, and providing feedback on team members’ presentation delivery.
Monitor team’s compliance with internal sales tracking system requirements.
Support Bid Management Practice Innovation
Conduct post-mortems to capture best practices, lessons learned, and market intelligence from completed pursuits.
Recommend BU-specific and company-wide improvement initiatives based on lessons learned and market intelligence gathered from completed pursuits.
Support onboarding and coaching of new bid managers in local geographies.
Have the flexibility to participate in late-evening conference calls and to occasionally work and/or travel on weekends/holidays.
Continuously seek opportunities to expand responsibilities and to improve pursuit teams’ chances of winning.
You will have
12+ years of overall work experience with at least 5 years in business development, bid management, management consulting, sales coaching, and/or financial analysis.
5+ years leading high-impact strategic bid across multiple stakeholder groups.
Strong experience leading large pursuit teams through the RFP response process preferred.
Strong interest in the application of digital technologies in reimagining business and operating models.
Highly organized with strong project management skills.
Strong MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to write persuasively and concisely.
