Our client is a Digital Bank that is a pioneering financial institution dedicated to transforming traditional banking through technological innovation and customer-centric financial solutions. They are committed to offering their customers seamless and secure banking experiences, and are now looking for a dynamic professional to lead their Cards division.

About the role

This role is based in Asia and our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Cards to spearhead the creation, development, and growth of their credit card product line in the Asian market. This transformative role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in credit strategy, credit risk management, and business development. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in taking a credit card team from inception to success, preferably in an emerging market environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the credit card business, aligning with the bank’s overall objectives.

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of credit card products, from initial concept through to market launch and ongoing management.

  • Establish and oversee credit strategy and underwriting processes, ensuring robust credit risk management.

  • Drive the development of innovative credit card products tailored to the needs of the emerging markets.

  • Build and maintain a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, technology, risk, and marketing to ensure cohesive and successful product delivery.

  • Leverage data analytics and insights to inform strategic decisions, optimize credit performance, and enhance customer experience.

  • Develop and implement a scalable tech stack to support the digital card business, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.

  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

You will have

  • Extensive experience in credit card product management and development, particularly in emerging markets.

  • Strong background in credit strategy, credit risk management, and business-focused financial services.

  • Proven track record of leading a credit card team from zero to one, demonstrating deep understanding and hands-on involvement in all stages of product development.

  • Background in analytics, engineering, or product development is highly advantageous.

  • Solid understanding of building and implementing technology stacks to support digital card businesses.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
