About the role
An experienced technical and business savvy individual who will partner with peers in digital product management, sales, and operational leadership and runs the digital product engineering discipline in our Singapore office. The role has to do the balancing act of managing technical processes and teams along with using his technical skills to provide the necessary environment for project success internally and with clients. This is a highly visible role that will include interaction with client contacts at the technology and business levels. This role requires a high level of technical acumen and will require the ability to do hands-on development if needed.
Manage the successful delivery of a number of client and group strategic projects, as defined in the project portfolio spanning web, mobile, messaging, and APIs.
Responsible for designing the technical architecture in conformance to the prescribed set of measurable features (performance, scalability, extensibility, etc) as defined to meet client and internal KPIs.
Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for project and platform developments.
Manages client engagement from the definition phase through implementation.
Manage vendors to ensure successful delivery of all aspects of the projects.
Responsible for managing technical risks on the projects. Communicates and enforces coding standards.
Creates partnerships with the project manager to give them technical assistance with important decisions. Elaborates on quality requirements and drives technical evaluation. Keeps project manager well informed of the status of development effort and serves as the liaison between development staff and project manager.
You will have
8+ years of hands-on experience.
A creative individual with deep technological expertise, business acumen, and a software development background. Must be able to make technical and structural design choices relative to the product, dictates technical standards, software coding standards, operating and development environments, and technical infrastructure and metrics.
Proficient in handling complex technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts, and designing techniques.
Deep understanding of building consumer-facing mobile applications at scale.
Deep understanding of building scalable web platforms.
Proficient in IOS/Android APP, .NET and responsive website, etc framework design and implementation.
Conceptualization Skills – Ability to create product architecture, and evaluate and foresee the applicability of diverse architectural designs relative to the product.
Engineering Skills – Ability to advocate and relate to different development methods and modeling techniques.
Ability to define, document, and communicate.
Good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures, and various compatibility requirements.
Experience with building distributed n-tier systems.
Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes, and ability to understand and drive client requirements.
Good understanding of non-functional areas like performance, scalability studies, human interaction, and software ergonomics.
Guidance and management of external and internal delivery teams.
Driving the collaboration with business area(s), IS, and technology vendors to ensure that all project participants are effectively communicating and executing tasks as specified in the project plan.
Review work of the development team.
Strong in Data structures & algorithms / Object oriented Design / Design patterns.
Very strong in .NET, and capability to learn new languages if needed such as Swift, Python, and Java.
Very strong in API design and implementation (both RESTful and SOAP).
At ease with agile practices and continuous delivery practices.
Experience working on service-oriented architectures and designing software in this context.
Operational experience with API Management platforms like MuleSoft, Azure, or AWS API Management.
Experience with Low Code/No Code Platforms is a definitive plus.
Additional plus: If you have demonstrated Scrum master skills as this is a rotation role between senior members of the team.
Work effectively in a multi-tasking environment. Know how to prioritize competing tasks.
Business acumen and analytical skills.
Strong Content Management and eCommerce background.
Hands-on with a strong sense of urgency, and willing to “roll sleeves up.”

A mindset of ownership of the topics you are responsible for and of getting things done.
An “open source” mindset is willing to continuously learn and share your findings with others. If you also contribute to open source projects, this is definitively a big plus.
Know-how to mentor and grow less experienced software engineers.
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Master's in computer science is a plus.
