About the role

These roles support the Tax team across a range of tax jurisdictions to provide efficient, accurate and timely delivery of tax accounting, compliance and stewardship processes.  This includes tax accounting processes, direct and indirect tax compliance, external reporting requirements as well as supporting of ad hoc requests and process improvement initiatives. There are opportunities for candidates that have experience with taxes in one or more of the following jurisdictions: Australia, UK, Brazil, Canada, Chile or the US.


Your responsibilities

  • Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

  • Ensuring compliance and commitment to Tax Principles and tax obligations.

  • Identifying continuous, sustainable improvement and simplification opportunities in the tax accounting and compliance area.

  • Ensuring the accurate preparation and timely submission of relevant tax returns.

  • Ensuring the accurate preparation and timely submission of indirect tax returns and withholding tax returns.

  • Preparing monthly, half year, and year end close tax calculations and related journal entries.

  • Preparing income tax provision calculations and reconciliations to ensure accurate tax balances are reported in the financial statements and that any issues identified are appropriately documented and communicated.

  • Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts for various jurisdictions.

  • Assisting with audit queries from tax regulators, vendors, JV partners, internal auditors, and external financial statement auditors.

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure tax implications of transactions are properly accounted.


You will have

  • Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/ICAA) or similar tax qualifications.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with a large corporate or professional environment.

  • Understanding of accounting for income taxes and preparation/filing of income tax returns.

  • Knowledge in IT systems: SAP, OneSource a plus.

  • Oil & gas or mining industry experience a plus.
