Our client is a world leading resources company who extract and process minerals, oil and gas. Our client is head quartered in Melbourne, Australia. 

 

About the role

Reporting to the Manager HR Analytics and Assurance, you will be responsible for global reporting and analytics related to the Human Resources function including extracting, processing, modelling, analysing and presenting HR data to enable better people decisions based on data and analytics. You will be responsible for the overall development, governance and upgrade of data analytics work, dashboards, experiments and algorithms and will be required to run these in a methodical manner.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Performs HR analytics and reporting activities, including but not limited to:

    • Internal global HR reporting and analytics.

    • External regulatory reporting and analytics.

    • HR performance reporting and analytics for GAS HR operations and global HR function.

  • Collects, processes and performs statistical analyses of data using applicable methodologies including but not limited to mathematical / statistical tools and techniques.

  • Identifies patterns, trends and correlations in complex data from multiple sources whilst overlaying business context and limiting bias.

  • Researches and develops statistical learning models for data analysis whilst keeping up-to-date with latest technology trends.

  • Analyses and interprets results using standard statistical tools and techniques.

  • Communicates simple and articulate insights relating to complex problems and data analysis to key decision makers using storytelling and visualisation.

  • Takes responsibility for troubleshooting and solving reporting problems, identifying data issues and aligning activities across assets and functions.

  • Coaches and conducts training to enhance knowledge and competency of reporting and analytics team.

  • Actively seeks to create value through identifying improvements to simplify activities, remove duplication and minimise hand-offs to enhance standardisation and efficiency of analytics and reporting activities.

  • Ensures alignment with and compliance to relevant Our Requirements (GLDs), legislation, agreements and standards.

 

You will have

To be successful in this role you will need to be a dynamic team player with a passion for problem-solving, data and analytics. We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience using programming languages such as R, Python, SQL .

  • Strong track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting data from large databases using SQL, Cloudera, Hue, Impala.

  • Experience applying data science methods and techniques to draw insights from large data sets .

  • Experience applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to analyse unstructured data.

  • Experience with advanced statistical techniques and concepts.

  • Experience in visualisation and presentation of data analysis.

  • Ability to communicate complex problems, models and analysis in a simple, articulate manner.

  • Experience producing quantitative and qualitative insights.

  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders and people with different areas of expertise in an agile environment.

  • Experience using Spotfire for dashboards and visualisation is preferred.

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant business / IT degree.

  • Excellent English communication skills.
