Our Client is US based Fortune 500 with more than RM 1,000mils in revenue of Sea markets.

 

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic leader who create and execute a clear strategy for the shared service center (SSC) according to the strategies, goals and objectives of the organization, business unit and corporation. You will provide leadership and direction for the SSC operations to ensure internal clients’ expectations are continuously met/exceeded. Provide and promote a working environment for all employees stimulating their performance and development as well as conforming to company culture and values.

 

You will have 6 direct reports and more than 100 indirect reports.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the shared service center.

  • Coordinates with Americas Managing Directors and Functional Department Heads (Finance) to develop and implement business service strategy and architecture plans based on strategic business objectives.

  • Works with stakeholders to identify service improvement and innovation opportunities and oversees the creation of service roadmaps.

  • Develop roadmap to expand scope of finance shared services to include additional processes and business units.

  • Ensures that the overall operation supports the company mission and values statements and that all organizational activities are carried out in compliance with the company code of conduct, policy and procedural directives.

  • Ensures positive reputation of the SSC and increases company’s awareness in the industry to attract and retain people.

  • Effectively manages risk within SSC, collaborates with process owners to manage global risk.

  • Collaborates with the global SSC leadership for increasing global alignment.

 

Leadership:

  • Lead and support direct reports enabling and motivating them to make high quality decisions and provide effective service to staff and promote collaboration with the rest of managers that report abroad.

  • Creates and inspires a supportive climate by keeping employees motivated and focused on the business priorities.

  • Promotes open dialogue and collaborative work so that all opinions and best practices are represented in the development of innovative business solutions in order to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

  • Creates a disciplined culture of achievement by evaluating the results of operations regularly and reporting Centre performance to the Board and other key stakeholders.

  • Sponsors organizational projects and ensures initiatives are implemented and operational.

  • Relationship management in the shared services industry, outside of the Centre.

 

Customer and Stakeholder Management:

  • Ensures consistent delivery of services which exceed business partner expectations.

  • Actively communicates and manages change within SSC and across business partners.

  • Establishes and oversees the key metrics to ensure organization is operating at peak efficiency

  • Build and maintain productive relationships by collaborating across (countries, affiliates) and Finance departments, building trust, commitment, accountability and results with all clients

  • Point of client escalation from the managers and prior to involvement of senior leadership.

 

Staff Management: 

  • Responsible for creating and driving an effective people strategy, organization model, talent development strategy, and engaged culture for the SSC

  • Drives SSC staffing through involvement with the selection, training, and career development programs

  • Develop goals, objectives and performance expectations at a macro level and hold the leadership team accountable for achieving results.

  • Develops and implements succession planning within the SSC

  • Fosters environment which drives employee retention and performance.

 

You will have

  • Prior experience managing a large to mid-sized SSC of a recognizable MNC i.e., a multi stakeholder / multi-cultural center.  

  • Relevant and recent experience in a function of an MNC preferably several different functions.

  • Organizational transformation experience in an MNC’s global initiative including project management and change management experience. 

  • Demonstrated experience of managing sensitive stakeholder expectations and in parallel demonstrated experience driving process efficiency and cost minimization.  Frequent travel to stakeholders and P&L ownership are key factors to demonstrate.

  • Experience working within a global team of peers at the other regional SSCs and exchanging ideas and strategies for harmonization and standardization among all centers.

  • Outstanding relationship management skills with the gravitas to influence and advise senior business leaders.

  • Risk management and mitigation.
