About the role

Our client is currently looking for a Head of Commercial to join their team. This is a global role, reporting directly to the CEO and working across the Senior Management team. This individual will own the overall commercial strategy for their global business and be responsible for building a commercial team. This involves devising and refining medium-term to long-term strategy, translating such strategies with all functional teams, driving the planning and coordinated execution of strategic plans, and measuring effectiveness.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Become part of the leadership team and drive the formulation and adaptation of their medium-term to long-term strategy as they grow rapidly and as the competitive landscape changes.

  • Work with the functional teams to craft clear annual and quarterly plans that are synchronized, properly resourced, and impactful to their goals.

  • Build cross-functional processes, oversee, and assist functional teams in their problem solving, and regularly dive into specific areas of concern/weakness and come up with new initiatives to address them.

  • Support functional teams to define and measure the effectiveness of their plans, and keep on validating and improving the impact.

  • Work with the People team to design incentives for performance, and support the People team and functional teams for their people strategy.

  • Build a strong Commercial team from scratch; design the team structure and resources, and over time recruit and lead the best talents that fit our ambitions.

 

You will have

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management consulting experience as a management consultant or preferably engagement manager from a Tier 1 Strategy Consulting firm.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on strategy or strategic planning with leadership teams in eCommerce companies or manufacturer/retailers’ eCommerce division.

  • Strong functional knowledge and expertise in some or all of the following: product design and sourcing, marketing, supply chain and operations management.

  • Have a passion and eagerness to drive thoughtful strategy with proven experience in formulating and crafting clear business strategies across functions and driving strategic planning and execution.

  • Proven experience in pulling through multi-year strategic initiatives.
