About the role

  • This position is responsible to monitor Commodity, Currency and Counterparty risk portfolio of APAC business in the designated locations.

  • Prepare Position Reports, MTM PNL, Stress PNL and Profitability Reports at pre-defined intervals; hedge currency exposures as they arise; monitor and report hedging activities and Credit / Market exposures.

  • As for Counterparty risk, this position will perform Counterparty risk assessment, making credit decision that balancing credit compliance and business needs; perform business partnering with the location in resolving credit issues (overdue, bad-debt, assets recovery, credit limit gap analysis) within its portfolio.

  • Risk management is a key contributor in the overall success of APAC business. This role will require excellent business partnering and persuasion skills in order to manage risks and business objectives.  


Your responsibilities

  • Risk management

    • Prepare Commodity Position (Long / Short) Reports, Fx position report, MTM PNL and Stress PNL. These processes include reconciliation of the numbers between Commercial PNL and Accounting PNL. 

    • Ensure various Physical exposures and Currency exposures are appropriately hedged in line with applicable policies and the results of such hedging activities are monitored and reported accurately on daily basis. Ensure the Credit and Market Exposures are monitored and managed in line with applicable policies.

    • Participate in the approval rocess of Vendor/Customer setup, Contracts and Sales invoices on day to day basis.

    • Ensure full compliance to Credit Policy in the day to day activities.

    • Actively driving improvement of local processes or defining follow-up action plan to address such non-compliance.

    • Provide training and ensure relevant stakeholders understand policy and procedures and execute accordingly.

  • Credit decision making and management

    • Perform independent credit assessment on limit request.

    • Approve credit exposure request within the delegated approval authority.

    • Initiate for credit risk mitigation solutions.

    • Ensure proper documentation in place as required by the policy and or credit approval.

    • Design and monitor credit key performance indicators; work with business leaders for root cause analysis of performance.

  • Oversee Reporting & monitoring, manager AR quality of APAC against target
    • Work closely with CBS Finance Team to ensure reporting is done on time and accurate.  Ensure sufficient early warnings signs are given to the business when payment behaviors of customers is out of line.

    • Provide in-depth analysis on AR Quality and determine action plans for improvement .

    • Ensure compliance with insurance policy for location where applicable.

  • Collection Monitoring

    • Owner of collection strategy and ensure relevant stakeholders handle collection activities properly.

    • Review and approve hold and release at delegated authority or escalate to approvers as defined under credit policy.

    • Work with legal for litigation process for bad debt cases.

  • Business Partnering

    • Provide risk mitigation solutions and facilitate various risk discussions with business teams and leaders while keeping in mind the growth/ expansion of business.

    • Exploring availability of financing solutions in the market.

    • Actively provide analysis to the business for potential solutions for customers.

    • Create a culture of cooperation and maintain a sound communication between the commercial teams. 

    • Perform customer visit to develop understanding of the market and business requirement and demonstrate such understanding in his/her credit decision.


You will have

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Professional qualification in Finance / Accounting (CA / CPA / CMA / ACCA etc) is an added advantage.

  • At least 6 years of total experience of which 2 years must have been in a predominantly trading environment handling Accounting and MTM related work.

  • Strong accounting experience with technical knowledge in Counterparty risk management. 

  • Solid grasp of MTM concepts.

  • Strong IT skills, especially in MS Excel and SAP.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Keen eye for details and clarity of thought.

  • Ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to interact easily with others and be a team player.

  • Ability to work in an unstructured, fast-changing and dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in an MNC & Manufacturing set-up.

  • Experience in structuring credit/ financing solutions.

  • Knowledge of JDE World and JDE One World systems.

  • Familiarity in Cocoa & Chocolate industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of continuous improvement, process optimization and intellectual curiosity.
