About our client

Our client is US based Fortune 500 with more than RM 1,000mils in revenue from SEA markets. 


About the role

You will be managing the demand on staff resulting from competing requests from various internal customers (including head office), process and automation improvement, coordinating with Head of Department for annual budgeting, long range business plan process as well as produce insight on promotional review for decision making. You will be responsible for effective reporting, compliance and financial services to internal and external parties.
Ensure effective of operational financial planning, monitoring and management reporting to enhance the decision-making process of the senior management team. 


Your responsibilities


  • Financial accounting and reporting

    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly & year end close.

    • Ensure timely financial reporting to local management and US head office.

    • Monthly tracking and reporting for budgetary control (opex and capex).

  • Financial systems, procedures and internal controls

    • Monthly review of various reporting to ensure no material misstatement.

    • Review of Bank reconciliation and Balance sheet account reconciliations.

    • Periodic review / enhancement of financial internal controls and updating of finance related SPB.

    • Liason with internal auditor and ensure any audit observation is properly manage and implemented.

    • Leading in process and automation improvement.

  • Compliance 

    • Working with tax consultant to ensure timely and accurate corporate tax filing.

    • Ensure proper recording of GST related transactions and secondly timely and accurate GST filing.

    • Liaise with auditor on audit planning and field work & to ensure smooth and efficient audit and no material misstatement and timeliness of audit report for reporting requirement.

  • Managing shared services team’s performance/deliverables – ensure the overall performance of the shared services team over the areas of RTR/PTP/O2C & be the key liaison person for Singapore market.


Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Local and regional office reporting, i.e. Preliminary sales reporting, MD’s report and monthly sales projection, keeping track and reporting of company KPI. 

  • Prepare the Capital Expenditure Requisition proposal and post completion review for major capex spend.

  • Leading in review and analysis of financial results and business trends & monitoring of expenses.

  • Produce a robust and insightful monthly management reports to support management understanding on business trends, results and progress of key business strategies/decisions.

  • Ad hoc projects and request from Regional Office and financial analysis to support key business decisions.

  • Business partnering with commercial team to support decision making.

  • Taking lead in robust promotional review during pre and post promotion for products.

  • Support any ad-hoc management reporting/operational review.


Costing Function

  • Review monthly Cost of sales analysis, excess and obsolete stock provision before month end closing. 

  • Review transfer price review, impact to CMAB & COI, etc.

  • Review annual budget of sales, Cost of sales%, MC% and impact to CCOS%.

  • Review Distributor price increase analysis, impact to CMAB & COI%.


Strategy Planning - Jointly creates short-term and long-term strategies, and develops policies, rules and regulations for the Company

  • Leading and produce a robust long range business planning, Annual Operating Plan, Projection and ad-hoc projection,


You will have

  • Qualified professional accountant.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong influencing and leadership skills.

  • 5 years post qualification experience.

  • 3 years managerial experience required. 

  • Be resilient and able to work well under pressure prioritize a heavy workload and work both reactively and proactively.
