Our client is in the business of Commodity Trading.


About the role

Oversee all accounting, finance and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Must have experience in Commodity trading.


Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the provision of timely and accurate monthly and annual financial & management reporting which is in compliance with the Company’s Group policies and practices and the country’s GAAP and Financial Reporting Standards.

  • Identification, development, recommendation and implementation of appropriate internal control system to ensure that the company’s interests are protected.

  • Identification of opportunities for process improvement & working capital management and supporting the group’s change initiatives.

  • To ensure all location reporting requirements are being prepared accurately and on a timely basis which includes daily position reporting, daily forex reporting, weekly and monthly AR and AP reporting, weekly inventory reporting, monthly Sales and Purchase reporting, monthly Revenue and Purchase reporting and Forex Profit and Loss reporting and all supporting schedules in relation to Balance Sheet items.

  • To ensure all financial records and documents are being maintained and stored in a systematic manner with proper traceability in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the location’s treasury management including establishing and cultivating excellent relationship with bankers.

  • Provide assistance to the location General Manager in the preparation of business plan and responsible for the accurate and timely completion budget and forecast.

  • Liaise with auditors and tax agent to ensure the company’s statutory audited reports and tax filings are in compliance with the relevant statutory regulations and being completed and lodged on a timely basis.

  • Liaise with tax consultant in the preparation and completion of annual transfer pricing documentation accurately and on a timely basis.

  • Responsible for the prompt and accurate preparation of documents requested for tax audits and to liaise with and provide sufficient assistance to the tax auditors from the relevant government agencies.

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, reporting/lodgement, maintenance and safe keeping of all documents related to GST (Goods and Services Tax) regulations and to liaise with the Customs department of the Royal Malaysian Customs for issues relating to payment and refund of GST and GST audit.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of the quarterly Bank Negara Reporting.

  • Responsible for the local regulatory surveys and statistics reporting.

  • Responsible for the monthly consolidation of the business accurately and on a timely manner.


You will have

  • Must have prior business knowledge/experience in Commodity Trading.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification from a recognized Accountancy body.

  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in related field.

  • Good business acumen and strong financial knowledge.

  • Independent with strong communication skill.
