The Fund is managed by the Company and invests in promising growth stage financial sector opportunities in Emerging Asia.


About the role

Our client is looking for an individual with proven buy-side private equity/venture capital experience to be part of the investment team. The role will be supporting the investment team and general partners in all aspects of their work with existing and future partners of the fund (entrepreneurs, investors, co-investors and exit partners).


Your responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and keep abreast of latest developments across sectors and companies of interest to the fund in Southeast/South Asia and globally.

  • Support due diligence on target companies and help craft structured and executive-ready materials for review and evaluation by investment team and fund’s investment committee.

  •  Form comprehensive opinions on potential target company’s strategy, team, and unfair advantages over competitors (go-to-market, product, technology) based on data and facts.

  • Perform financial modelling and simulations to assess value of new and follow-on investments, valuations, and liquidity events, incorporating multiple deal scenarios and assumptions around performance.

  • Track and update progress of deals through deal flow cycle and ensure most up-to-date records in systems.

  • Support deal execution by interfacing and coordinating with multifunctional teams of internal and external stakeholders (law firms, accounting firms, fund admin, brokers) as required.

  • Cultivate productive relationships with portfolio companies and key external partners through value creation projects post-investment in areas such as partnership facilitations, fundraising and industry insights.

  • Work with investment team and general partners in areas of advisor management, marketing and publicity, reporting, and limited partners’ support.

  •  Contribute and lead internal initiatives to continually innovate and improve tools, capabilities, and processes to execute investment strategy and transactions efficiently and effectively.


You will have

  • 4-6 years of work experience, including 3-4 years of private equity/venture capital investing experience.

  • Outstanding analytical and research abilities, adept at asking the right questions, analysing data sets, financial modelling, and valuation analysis.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and can make numbers come alive by conveying complex info in clear and succinct ways.

  • Familiar with basic legal structures, processes, deal terms and investment instruments common in private equity/venture capital transactions.

  • Able to work well within a diverse, multifunctional, and multicultural team setting.

  • Experience in management consulting or building a high-growth digital company a plus.

  • Demonstrable interest in start-up/venture ecosystem and technology trends in Southeast/South Asia through prior work or extra-curricular activities a plus.
