About the role

We are looking for talented, skilled and enthusiastic people to join our Finance team as a Specialist – Accounting Processes. Reporting to the Manager Finance, this role will be providing value through ensuring that a range of accounting activities for the assets under the Australia region are performed in a timely, accurate and effective manner.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Support and build relationships with the Finance Business Partners, Accounting and Reporting and Operations stakeholders across the various assets within the Australia region. 

  • Ensure accurate accounting and processing of transactions for the respective assets within the Australia region in order to facilitate informed business decisions and meet compliance requirements. Accounting activities may include preparation of accruals, cost allocations, monthly inventory review and preparation of monthly cost sign off activities in preparation for analysis and ledger closure. 

  • Perform reviews and analysis of the costs for the respective assets to ensure accuracy and completeness of the results reported for Australia region. 

  • Maintain and coordinate the master data activities for Australia region including cost center, projects (Operating and Capital expenditures) and fixed assets creations, changes and disposals. 

  • Participate in internal and external audit requirements including information requests, process or financial queries and testing of controls. 

  • Provide assistance and coaching to other team members and stakeholders where required, act as back up and assist with other ad hoc tasks in their absence. 

  • Continuous drive for process improvement by proactively identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives within the team. 

  • Support the testing and implementation of global process improvement initiatives and system changes to ensure accurate and timely deployment. 

  • Support the open communication, collaboration, sharing of ideas and information within the Finance Accounting and Reporting teams and Finance Business Partner. 

 

You will have

  • Strong knowledge in GL & Fixed Assets, JV will be added advantage. 

  • Degree qualification in accounting. 

  • Minimum 5 years work experience. 

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in accounting. 

  • Fluent English, both verbal and written. 

  • Experience in either 2 of the following: JV, FA, GL. 

 

Good to have

  • Experience in handling full set of accounts. 

  • Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA) either completion or currently pursuing. 

  • SAP. 

  • Experience with shared service functions. 

 

Additional information

  • Travel may be required for knowledge transfer. 

  • No shift requirements for these roles.
