A well-known retail e-commerce organization, has operated in 40 countries worldwide.


About the role

He/she is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of financial information to all users of financial information in accordance with both local and standard accounting standards and policies. He or she is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end processes of the Record to Report chain and Corporate Reporting, and ensuring that systems, documentation, compliance procedures are in place to ensure delivery of quality services to stakeholders. He/she must ensure delivery of SLAs and KPIs for the Record to Report and Corporate Reporting.


Your responsibilities

Accounting Framework and Related Control Environment

  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure effective processes are in place in the General Ledger, Inventory and Fixed Asset functions.

  • Monitor local legislative environment as it affects the recognition of transactions recorded in the financials and initiate policy changes, if necessary.

  • Oversee the month-end closing process and ensures that the books are accurate, complete and are closed on time.

  • Ensures compliance to company Manual and all company policies.

  • Lead process improvement and control initiatives that will help improve current processes, drive efficiency and productivity throughout the Record to Report chain, and ensure adherence to the same.

  • Reviews Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by the BPO ensures that accounts that are long outstanding are explainable and have a valid business rationale.

Corporate Reporting

  • Prepare and ensure local and group management reporting, local regulatory reporting and statutory financial statements are prepared timely and accurately.

  • Responsible for Maintenance of Standard Chart of Account (SCOA).

Statutory and Corporate Audits

  • Liaise with the PWC to ensure that interim and year-end audit requirements are completed and Audited financial statements are released and filed in a timely manner

  • Support the timely completion of corporate audits as required.

Taxation, Finance Business Partnership and Other Activities


You will have

  • Professional Certificate in Finance i.e ACCA/CIMA.

  • At least 8 year of experience in Finance at a senior manager level in a consumer or retail company.

  • Preferably with hands on experience in SAP and proficient in Microsoft Applications particularly Excel and Power point.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical ability and problem solving.
